Business Process Engineering (BPE) is a systematic approach to process development where no process previously existed, or if it exists, is being replaced in its entirety.

Keya’s BPE consulting begins with a critical examination of the client’s business objective and then determines the categorical (activity components) parts that are essential to satisfy the client’s business objective(s).

Keya then proceeds to the design phase of the process to be developed. This step is followed by a client’s review of the process design and the risk assessment (resource and cost requirements) associated with its proposed development.

Once a process is developed, and “preliminary testing” is accomplished, a joint effort between Keya and the client is then coordinated for the “operational/simulated testing” phase of the development. Detected discrepancies are de-bugged accordingly.

After the client signs-off on the fully tested process, Keya advances to the Development Implementation/installation Phase. This is done concurrently with the training of client’s skilled resources that can bring about successful performance.

With the start of new operations, both Client and Keya observe the operations in process with great scrutiny to evaluate that the performance steps are operating as intended and to the satisfaction of the Client. The post-operative, installation phase is followed by the Quality Assurance/Maintenance Phase.

An integral part of the Quality Assurance/Maintenance Phase occurs when a Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) Program is installed. This program is the safeguard deterrent to future process obsolescence. Keya assists the client, who served in an empowerment capacity throughout the process development phase, in the continuance of quality process surveillance. Once CPI is fully installed, the client’s staff should be ready to self-administer this program, therefore, when deficiencies surface, swift immediate action can be taken to correct inadequacies.
